Hello. I was born in France and lived for three decades in the American West. I am now based near Glasgow after living for five years in Ramsgate onboard my wooden sailboat Wendy Woo.
I'm an artist (multidisciplinary, I studied film-making, have published a memoir, poetry, and books of photography, and performed). I consider myself to be a very responsible, respectful, and caring person. I'm also quiet, attentive, and focused on my work. My party days, if ever, are well over. I'm vegetarian, drink the rare glass of red wine, and do not smoke. I like to keep a tidy, peaceful, and secure home.
My first cat, Edith, is now 18, and has been living with my parents since I relocated from the States. In 2023, I adopted a beautiful dollrag kitten but despite my best efforts and that of her top vets, Blue died at five months from a retrovirus infection. I was heartbroken.
Caring for animals is something my brothers and I learned as kids on my grandparents' farm in Southwest France, helping to care for cows, donkeys, rabbits, pigs, chicken, rabbits, cats and sheep dogs. I wasn't vegetarian back then (practically unheard of in the land of, ahem, foie gras!) but treating animals responsibly whilst in your care was just the right thing to do. Today, this same sense of reciprocity and mutual care is what appeals to me in house- and pet-sit situations.
London - I'm looking to spend some time in Central London to complete a new photographic urban series. That part of the process requires only a couple of hours outside of the home daily, when the light is right. On a daily basis, I spend most of my time on the computer writing and editing my work, and absolutely love being called to attention by meows and padded paws.
Scotland & the rest of the UK - Always up for a short country break from the ol' home office. I enjoy long walks through nature and getting to know every corner of these isles.
I've only started sitting in 2024 and hope to soon have excellent reviews to share. I'm also happy to provide my home address and social links as well as a copy of my passport.

I cannot recommend Marianne more highly - she was an excellent cat and house sitter and so attentive and caring. One of my cats needed a high level of care, including daily medication and a more than usual litter box use, and Marianne handled it all brilliantly. She kept me informed as to how things were going and really understood the level of care needed.
