Sam & Tre

We are a couple in our late 50s who have been married for over 30 years. We have carried out many house sits - our shortest being 3 days and our longest 5 months. We are new to this site (May 2024) but have 20 5 star reviews on another site. Details can be provided.

We both have enhanced DBS Police certificates - issued May 2021.

Sam has worked in property management for almost 20 years. Tre is an experienced gardener and competent DIYer. Experience of indoor and outdoor pool management.

Just having returned from six months in Australia (May 2024), we are looking for housesits until we find work, so can only book sits up to a month in advance at the moment.

Our most recent job was managing an Almshouse site for a charity - looking after 24 cottages housing older people. Sam looked after welfare / admin / social events and Tre looked after the grounds and carried out a variety of maintenance tasks. We have also managed a luxury holiday rental villa in St Tropez, living on site and managing all aspects of the day to day running of the house and extensive grounds as well as looking after paying guests and caring for the resident cat.

Previous work positions have included Sam: 15 years as Accommodation & Conference Manager for Oxford University at Corpus Christi College - living in to be on call for emergencies; HM Diplomatic Service including an overseas posting; Manager of a 125 bed Hostel and a Conference & Wedding booker in a four star hotel.

Tre spent his initial working career in electronics, but re-trained and spent 10 years with Thames Valley Police as a Crime Scene Investigator. He is a qualified gardener, as well as being a competent DIYer with courses in carpentry, car maintenance and basic plumbing under his belt.

We are houseproud, clean and tidy non-smokers who enjoy reading, walking, ornithology, ski-ing, food and travel. We have no pets or children of our own. We do not smoke and do not accept house sits where smokers reside.

We are VERY clean and tidy and prefer to sit at properties that are the same.

NB: You will not find us on Facebook/Linkedin/Twitter. We have no social media / online profile, preferring our private life to remain just that! This means that we will not be posting pictures of your home/pets/garden online during our stay.
