How It Works

Can I say that this is our first foray into house sitting and your Website and any initial anxieties have been completely dispelled. The site is very intuitive and easy to use and provides a perfect forum for the two sides of house owners and sitters to interact. All extremely useful. Chris and Jean - Northamptonshire

Live Rent-Free* and Save Money

House sitting is normally a simple exchange - the house owner gets someone to look after their house and pets while they are away, in exchange for rent free accomodation for the sitter. Both sitter and owner get a lot of value out of this arrangement:

  • The House owner doesn't have to pay for pet boarding or garden maintenance, or professional pet sitting services, all of which are very expensive, and which still don't provide the level of care or security that the owner really wants.
  • The House Sitter doesn't have to pay for accommodation, which is usually a dominant cost for travellers and anyone who is renting.

Many people choose house-sitting primarily to save money; for a house or a trip, or just to get ahead. Imagine not having to pay rent every week...

*FREE: House sitting is usually free, for both sitter and house owner, although this is completely up to the individuals. There are usually some costs that need to be covered by either the sitter or the house owner e.g. electricity, phone usage, vet fees etc. How these costs are handled needs to be agreed before the sit begins. House sitters pay a single annual membership fee, while house owners pay nothing to advertise their house or to contact sitters.
