Update - After almost a year of full time pet sitting in 2022 we have now returned home to Cumbria . Luke now works full time for a well known national dog rehoming charity. Emma works from home and can consider paid pet sits.

"We started looking for a pet sitter after deciding this option would be much better suited for us and our dog - keeping him happy and in his surroundings. It was really important for us to find the right pet sitter - someone who we felt confident with and could trust to look after our dog and house whilst we are away - we were very particular and finding someone suitable was very difficult! We stumbled across Emma & Luke and they really jumped out to us - they had a great profile with lots of information and photos; we liked that they had put so many questions together, that they were professional and responsive but also personable. We had a video call with them both and also arranged to meet them and their lovely dog Blue. Emma, Luke and Blue stayed with us for one night before we departed - and whilst we found it hard leaving our boy the next day they were really wonderful - it was obvious our Raiden was going to be happy with them. They provided regular updates with lots of photos and messages whilst we were away which really helped us relax and enjoy our break, we were away for 2 weeks and when we returned our house was beautifully clean and tidy and Raiden was very happy! If you are looking for the best we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Emma & Luke - we were also really happy that they agreed to come back in 2023 for us."

"Emma and Luke have looked after our house and dog on a number of occasions.

From the outset, they took great care to get to know both us and our dog’s daily routine to ensure the best care possible. Their paperwork and admin gave us reassurance that they were and continue to be committed to being as professional as they can be. They also update their information for each sitting to ensure that no detail is missed.

Our dog , who can be a bit wary of new people was a little nervous to start with but she soon got to know them and Luke and Emma are now greeted like ‘one of the family’. On every occasion the house was left spotless for our return and our dog was happy and relaxed.

We are Emma and Luke from the Lake District. We are airbnb superhosts with over 60 reviews from our guests. Over the years we have had our own dogs, cats, chickens and ducks, all rescued from rescue centres/charities. We are firm believers in adopt don't shop where possible.

We got married in October 2021 and from the end of November 2021 we have travelled the UK in our camper van interspersed with house and pet sitting with our dog Blue, a female Greyhound aged 12. Blue has now sadly passed away.

We have a grown up daughter and baby granddaughter whom we visit when back in the Lakes between house sits.

Luke's mum Liz was a house and pet sitter for many years and so inspired by her stories of the places she stayed and the friends she made we decided to sign up ! We gave notice on our rented home and sold all our possessions with the exception of the items we deemed essential to squeeze into the van.

Luke's necessities include his Star Wars paraphernalia and mine are my carefully curated library of books. One of which is "The Forever Dog" ! We value our health and that of our dog, so our diet, lifestyle and nature are important to us.

Some people assume this means we are vegan?! We are not, we love animals but we also choose to eat meat, so if you're not comfortable with this we are perhaps not for you. We are non smokers.

Emma is a former police officer having worked for Cumbria Police for 12 years until 2018 before leaving to reclaim her sleep, sanity and social life !

Luke has over 12 years of experience of maintaining holiday accommodation and second homes, including gardens and pools, during his time living on the Greek island of Kefalonia.

Emma writes, teaches Pilates, mentors clients and loves to read, journal and meditate.

We set out on this journey in November 2021 using using several "match making" platforms, and although that gave us a great start and valuable experience, we have now set up our own house and pet sitting business . To date we have completed 15 sits all over the UK taking care of

Our house sitting rates start at 49 per day which includes staying in your home overnight to ensure security and maintenance, watering of plants, putting out the bins and bringing in mail and parcels. We charge per 24 hour period. Charges for pet sitting are bespoke as no two pets are the same, and depend on the needs and responsibilties for the pets in our care. We have used two other house sitting platforms from which we have 5 star reviews we can send and references. We can also send you a link to our airbnb profile so that you can read our reviews there too.

Any location and pets are considered, however our preference is for rural homes with somewhere safe that we can park our small camper van.

If you have airbnb or holiday accommodation we can also assist with this and we offer a deep cleaning service ( charges apply)
