Hi to everyone in the UK!
UPDATE! I had a great time housesitting in Edinburgh in 2023, so, of course, I can't resist coming back in 2024. Looks like it wasn't my final trip after all (-:
I am making what might be my final trip and will probably focus on Scotland. I had a couple of sits organised for 2020 but we all know what happened then and I didn't get there!
I am a fit and active Australian woman, non smoker, and a vego (which isn't really relevant!). I have been housesitting through the Australian arm of this site for many years and if you go online to AussieHouseSitters you will see that I have many good references.
I have looked after many creatures, from herds of cattle through to cats and dogs via goats and snakes. Yes, snakes.
Obviously it is not going to be possible for me to meet you prior to coming, but isn't that what technology is for? We can chat on Facetime, or whatever technology is the go at the moment.
I may have included my grand daughter in one of the pics. I apologize, I can't help myself! I am a bit smitten.
I will be there for your summer mainly, anytime between August and early October. Leaving my plans till I have organised a sit or two.

Gillian was a great house sitter and we got back to a lovely tidy house and two contented pups. She is friendly and super capable- nothing fazes her and we loved her totally 'can do' attitude. Welcome back any time here!
Gillian was great! Animals and the home were well cared for with excellent communication.
Gillian took great care of my Frenchie Frankie over a long weekend. The house was as spotless as I left it, my plants were watered and Frankie was a happy girl on my return. Gillian's communication leading up to the house sit was excellent and she even met Frankie a few months before, popping by our house to say hello. Gillian was a delight to deal with and was really patient with our v shy cat and even got her in her harness with a few days out and about. Thanks so much for looking after our pets and house.
Gillian is a fabulous house sitter! We will certainly be seeking her out when we next need a house sitter. Our pooch Cloudy loved her and bonded really quickly with her when she arrived. We had absolute peace of mind while away knowing Gillian was looking after her and our home.
Gillian was truly fantastic. Her communication throughout the stay was perfect - not too much, not too little. She sent us photos of our fur babies every day, which is exactly what we asked for. Gillian kept the house tidy and left it in great condition. We have a new kitten and her big brother is still adjusting, but Gillian handled them perfectly for us. Will book her in again ASAP and recommend you do too!
Gillian was a fantastic house sitter for both the house and our dog Obi. She was great in communicating with us, was flexible when we decided to leave a day early and even visited us before the house sit to meet Obi and us to go over how it all works. We would highly recommend Gillian for a house sit. She sent lots of phots and vids of Obi and even washed the sheets at the end of her stay. Thanks so much Gillian!
Gillian was a great house sitter. My shy cats were fed and looked after well, my flat was perfectly tidy, and my plants had been watered. Communication was great too, both in the lead up to the sit, and during. Would certainly recommend Gillian!

Gillian was friendly, very reliable and great to communicate with. She took excellent care of my dog and cat and was happy to walk the dog daily. She left the house tidy and left home baked loaf of bread. Thanks Gillian.
We could not have been happier with Gillian as she took wonderful care of our pets and house. Pictures of the pets and and leaving the house spotless, even the neighbor enjoyed her company on a walk with the dog. Highly recommend Gillian if you need a sitter.
Gillian came to look after me recently when my owners went away. She was great and knew that being an active kelpie/cross, I'd need plenty of exercise. She kept me occupied doing my favourite activities - going for walks and chasing my ball along the beach. Even the owners of my doggy friends agreed that Gillian was very diligent and friendly. I would be very happy if she was available to dogsit me another time. Woof! Dusty
This is the first time we have used a house sitter and we were a little nervous but Gillian made the process a whole lot easier and made us feel completely comfortable. Our one year old dog can be very nervous around new people but he really took to Gillian from the moment she walked in the front door! Gillian did a wonderful job of looking after our two fussy cats and quite large garden. She kept us updated with cat photos and did a brilliant job. We felt very confident about leaving cats in her experienced care. She even went to the post office to pick up a special parcel. Thanks Gillian! We are so glad we found Gillian. She took such amazing care of our two (very spoilt) dogs and our home. The house was clean and tidy when we returned and were greeted with two happy dogs. Gillian also sent us photos and updates over the time we were away. Would 100% recommend to anyone, and we will try and use Gillian next time we need a Housesitter.
Gillian was my first house sitter ever, and I think we were both a little nervous about how she'd go with my horses, but she did a fabulous job. I reckon she's got her Horses Badge now, after 3 weeks of very hands on equine management. Thanks a million, Gillian!
Gillian instantly made me feel like we were all in good hands. All the animals adored her, so much so I hardly felt I'd been missed upon my return :) highly recommended!

Gillian very capably kept an eye on assorted sheep and cattle, fed and checked horses and looked after our dog and cat who loved having the company. She very kindly brought in and folded the washing, coped with some inclement weather and dodgy tv reception as well as leaving the house tidy. All greatly appreciated.
Gillian was wonderful looking after our 2 lovely Labs, Bella & Ben. She walked them every day on the beach, and we have had many of our neighbours remark at how lovely she was to talk to. Our house was spotless when we returned. I would recommend Gillian to any future house owner looking for someone responsible to look after their pets.
My 17 year old Jack Russell passed away when I was overseas and Gillian coped brilliantly with his sudden demise and subsequent passing. It must have been the house sitting job from hell to cope with this.
My house was immaculate on my return and Spike s rugs and toys neatly folded as I had asked.
She kept me posted on his health issues and even offered to pick up my sons from the airport if they wanted to fly in.
I could not ask for a more kind and gentle housesitter and person.
Gillian was absolutely brilliant and I
wish I could have her for all our future house sits. Along with 3 chooks, a snake and cat we have a Chow Chow dog who needs special consideration as he has poor eyesight. Just before Gillian arrived he developed a skin sore and needed medication as well as cream applied and I was concerned he would need further vet treatment when we were away and I was worried about burdening a house sitter with that - but when Gillian arrived she completely put our ... Gillian did a fantastic job looking after our 2 very sooky dogs and 7 chooks while coping with the watering of a very large veggie garden. This is the first time we have used a house sitter and we were particularly anxious about our dogs as they are an integral part of the family and one of them suffers from separation anxiety. We had to find a house sitter last minute. Gillian came to our rescue! Gillian was fantastic looking after the two dogs, one horse and three guinea fowl. I would recommend Gillian to anyone and it was great to have contact and regular photos of our beloved pets whilst on holiday. Thanks once again Gillian :)
We were very happy with Gillian she is a really kind and genuine person. We were overseas for 6 weeks and she was in constant touch with us reassuring us that all was well at home so we could enjoy our holiday. She kindly drove us to and from the airport. On our return the house was very tidy and our very spoilt cat, who she fell in love with, was very well fed and content. I would have no hesitation in recommending Gillian to house sit and hope to see her in the future for a cuppa.
Gillian had done a previous 'sit' for us and made herself available when we had urgent need of a replacement house-sitter. The dogs were well looked after, the house was left in good order and Gillian communicated with us as and when needed. Overall - highly recommended.
