I love this 'job'... I get to go to lovely new places, meet lovely animals and sometimes get to tend lovely plants and gardens too. In return, I offer you total attention to whatever is most important to you.

My own home now is in Yorkshire, but I love to travel around the UK. I'm technically retired (but never will!) and as a former psychotherapist I do some occasional mentoring work and facilitate wellbeing in nature workshops. I write about the natural world too, as a volunteer for conservation and environmental charities . So I do like to visit as many places in the UK as I can. I particularly enjoy coastal, rural - and especially isolated - but love the cultural opportunities and urban oases available in some towns and cities too.

I've had a lot of house/pet sitting experience over the last 20 years or so (as both owner and sitter) though mostly via other websites, or private arrangements. However, I've completed 5 sits with Housesitters so references are available below, and I have others you can see if you need to. I'm so looking forward to new adventures in 2024...

Whilst I'm looking after your home (animal care permitting) I'll explore the local area and spend indoor time reading, writing, zooming and catching up on tv/films etc on my laptop. And of course keeping your home clean and tidy. I love attending to plants too, indoor or out: not so keen on mowing lawns but will if I must!

Clean driving licence, usual vaccinations covid/flu etc. Enhanced DBS check (I do some wellbeing work in schools.)

I usually sit for no cost to you, although a donation towards my travelling costs in these days of extortionate fuel charges/train fare is requested and supports my voluntary work. Sometimes I charge if sits are relatively local to me and in such cases I'm happy to do either call-ins or stay over.
