I don't sit to travel. I travel to sit as, from experience, pet cats are happier in familiar surroundings than stuck in a cattery.
I am pleased to have earned 22 reviews for doing something I enjoy. However this figure does not show that several of those owners trusted me more than once, actual sits are 31.
Since retiring I have house and pet sit, occasionally,locally for friends, Lewis and Sophie who happen to be an established sitters with House SittersUK ,a Retriever and a Burmese, and can vouch for me. Both go potty when I see them. You will note I have posted pics of me actually with pets rather than a standard portrait.
Also of my reviews three were multi sits so you can add 8 to total.
I have also had many self catering stays all over the world., and I am always praised for how I leave their properties and that their cleaners weren't needed.

Barry has been a great sitter. Excellent communication both before and during the house sit. He obviously loves cats and my two were very happy and healthy when I returned. Lovely to meet you Barry, and thanks again for looking after the cats so well.

Barry was a wonderful sitter and kept me updated throughout the sit. I went away for two weeks and was nervous about leaving my fur babies as I’d never left them that long before but Barry was very reassuring and after meeting him twice I knew I could trust him.
One of my cats is a very nervous and scared cat and I was worried about him but he got along with Barry so well which I loved.
It was nice getting pictures of them whilst I was away.
Barry recently sat for my 2 boys for 2 weeks whilst I was away. He took excellent care of them. He was great at communicating leading up to and throughout the sit and I got photos and updates whilst I was away. It was great knowing they were in such good hands.
Barry is a super sitter and a real pro. We appreciated that he made the time to come over in advance of the sit for a walkthrough and to meet our cat Wolfie. We were away for 10 days and felt safe and secure knowing Barry had everything totally under control at home and we had nothing to worry about. We are happy to recommend Barry to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy and caring sitter who truly loves pets.
Barry was warm & affable, and I came home to 2 happy cats who clearly enjoyed his company.
Long sits can be challenging, and I found that, while Barry left my home very tidy, it was not as hygienic as I would have liked. Examples:
1. I scooped the litter tray and found used (strong ammonia smell) litter under a layer of fresh litter. The bag of litter I left already open & partly used, that usually barely lasts me a month, was still 1/3 full. The extra (full) bag was untouched.

We were pleased to have Barry house sit and look after our cats for the second time. The cats certaintly seem to enjoy his company. We returned to a clean house and happy pets.
Barry was very accommodating, given the short notice but Tilly seemed very happy and well looked after!
Great Housesitter who made firm friends with our cat and looked after our house beautifully. Barry also kept in touch regularly and dealt admirably with an unexpected loss of water pressure due to a mains leak on our road. Above all it was just very reassuring to know that whilst we were away our house was being looked after by a reliable, trustworthy and sensible sitter. Thank you.
I would recommend Barry for any house sitting job, particularly if it involved cats.
Barry was an excellent sitter for our four cats and kept the house in order too. Unfortunately due to our travel times we were unable to meet before or after but I was glad to see that the notes I left were useful and we also communicated by message on the site beforehand.
We had barry booked for the summer but sadly had to cancel our booking. However, I wanted to leave a review as Barry traveled to meet with us in preparation for his sit and we had 100% trust that Barry would make a great sitter, should they opportunity arise, or circumstances change, we wouldn't hesitate to book Barry. Barry has been an excellent house-sitter - we knew our cat Tinkerbell was in safe and loving hands and so it turned out. Barry sent regular updates and photos. House clean and tidy when we got home. All good. Thank you Barry..
Barry sat for me and my cat for a week in April 2022. Barry is a genuine cat-lover, and he and my cat Trilby got on well together. I would say that Barry is reliable, friendly and communicative - and I will definitely use him again if he is available.
Barry has been a joy to have as a house and cat sitter.
He looked after my 4 cats so well and he left the flat looking immaculately clean and tidy.

Barry was fantastic company for Gyoza and it sounds like they were good friends by the end of the sit. He was happy to send updates for us, which we appreciated.
Barry is a great housesitter. He looked after our home and cats for over a week. He kept me up to date with photos and the home was spotless when we returned. He left us a lovely card and fresh milk to come home to, which was much appreciated. We would recommend him to anyone looking for a housesitter.

Many thanks to Barry for looking after my kitten so well! She was in great form when I got back from my 2-week holiday. Barry is very trustworthy & has great communication skills. He's coming back soon for another sit :-)
Barry was a pleasure to deal with from the point of contract to bidding him farewell at the end of the sit. Bagpuss, the cat absolutely loved Barry so the care he provided whilst we were away meant we left her in good hands.
I have no hesitation in recommending Barry for pet & house sitting! He kept me well informed of Dave's Well being with photos & texts. He obviously cares about the animals he looks after. Hope he can sit for us again sometime.
