Paul & Dee

Hi, We are a retired, professional, active, couple. Having spent time house sitting on holiday in New Zealand, really enjoying it and getting excellent feedback we have since been sitting in UK. We used the New Zealand sister website whilst there so our endorsements are available for you to read. We now have completed around 35 sits in the UK through this and another site.

We are booked at the end of June and not available at all from the end of September through to April 2024. We are very happy to consider short sits (weekends, midweek etc) within a reasonable drive from us in West Sussex as well as longer sits anywhere in the UK.

We have looked after numerous dogs, cats, fish, birds and poultry. Our experience has covered small medium and very large dogs as well as looking after 4 dogs on 2 occasions.

We are very reliable, friendly, responsible, honest and tidy non-smokers. Dee and I were both Headteachers before we retired, so were subject to regular police checks and recently had our police checks as NHS Volunteer Responders. We are also very practical people and able to deal with all sorts of household problems that might occur. After Paul retired as a Headteacher he worked as a caretaker in the local school for 4 years, to keep busy before Dee retired, so security and 'taking care' doing maintenance and cleaning were top priorities. In the UK we have a lovely garden with flowers, vegetables and lawns so would be happy to help out if that were needed. We will look after your house and pets as if they were our own and recognise that all pets are individuals with their own personalities and needs.


Because of our experience of house sitting and our previous occupations we can assure you that your house and pets will be in excellent hands, allowing you to go away without any worries. We are very excited at the prospect of looking after your property and animals.

You could literally not wish to meet 2 nicer people that Paul and Dee. They are an absolutely amazing couple who really helped to lay our minds at rest, and made our first experience of house sitter a complete pleasure.Not only did Paul and Dee come and meet us, talk it through how it works, meet the pets and come see the house etc. But they also took the time to help us with our notes, explain what they needed from us, and then when the actual sit took place - stayed in regular contact and were all round legends! These guys are an absolute pleasure to deal with. There are exactly how it should work and were a true credit to the whole process! We went into it a bit wary and unsure, not convinced how it would work out etc - if it was dodgy, what the people would be like. Paul and Dee answered every question we had and more! They were at ours for 5 days and they treated the house like their own with lots of respect, and most importantly took amazing care of our animals (and plants!!).What an absolutely great couple that we feel very lucky to have met. Paul and Dee are a delightful couple who without a doubt are experienced house sitters and have complete dedication and commitment to the responsibilities they take on. Toby and Cola settled within minutes with them so we had no qualms in leaving the animals or concerns during our break. Paul kept in touch with events going on and we feel it may have been a difficult sit for them as there was horrid weather and rain for the whole week and therefore a grubby dog to walk and care for. The house was left in a lovely condition and we appreciate the milk and flowers. Dee forgot to take something home with her and as my late Scottish father always said says that if something is left behind the person wishes to return. We would welcome Paul and Dee back with open arms anytime and know Toby and Cola would too as they so appreciate cuddles and strokes and being close. A true 5 star sit with genuine people Thank you.
