63, Previously: Community Support Worker
61, Vocational Lecturer at Agricultural College (Retired)
Thank you for taking the time to view our profile.
** We are both DBS checked clear and are non-smokers.**
We realise it must be daunting to have strangers stay in your home and especially with your beloved pets, so here's a bit about us, which we hope will put your mind at ease:
We've been together as a couple for more than 40 years and have shared our lives with Labradors, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a miniature Goldendoodle. We've been owned by Burmese cats, Bengals and a moggie, so are entirely at home with cats as well as with dogs.
Martin was brought up on a farm in East Yorkshire so is no stranger to livestock. On sits in the UK and in France, we've cared for dogs and cats of all ages, shapes and sizes, chickens, sheep and miniature donkeys (wonderful characters, all!). We have a real affection for animals and treat those in our care like they're our own, with lots of interaction, affection and cuddles, but with your boundaries and routines.
We have both worked with vulnerable adults in our lines of work, which necessitated enhanced DBS checks by employers.
Martin:
Until taking early retirement, i worked at an Agricultural College as a Vocational Lecturer, which basically means I taught construction techniques to young people, including some with learning difficulties. I was previously a Bricklaying Instructor at Hull City Council.
Over the years, Kim and I have renovated very many properties and gardens and have built two of our own homes so so we realise how important it is to treat homes with care and respect.
Kim:
After being a full-time mum for many years, I returned to studies as a mature student then completed 2 years of a degree programme in Midwifery, doing placements in Hull and the East Riding. I regrettably left the programme early when Martin failed to make spontaneous recovery after a road traffic accident but went on to work as a Community Support Worker, in a palliative care role, for East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
We look forward to hearing from you.
