I am aged 66. I was widowed 12years ago. I have 29 year old son who lives near me, I have recently become a grandma. I retired from a career in Social work in 2017 for many years I worked with children and families but for the last 24years of my career I worked in palliative care as Social Worker in our local Hospice in Barnsley. I’m a very outgoing sociable person I love the great outdoors walking Keeping fit I do badminton pilates Tia chi kettlebells dance I love travel. I am a Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award holder. I Qualified as a Youth Worker in the 70s then got seconded by my employer to complete my Social work Qualification. In 2005 I qualified as a Shiatsu Practitioner and have worked part time as a therapist since 2012 in a service that supports and treats cancer patients. I have decided to retire and looking at more hobbies and interest. House sitting really appeals to me as I love travel and seeing different parts of Great Britain and love feeling useful. I do voluntary work at local community leisure centre run by the community. I’m hoping to also volunteer at local community garden. I love music I used to play in a samba band. I’m considering taking up African drumming in my retirement.
