Experienced, trusted pet sitter

45, Partner in my Husband's Business and Home Educating Mum

Hi, I'm Claire, I am 46 years old and have two children, aged 15 and 12 years. We have been house sitting for 4 years and I have over six years experience as a home boarder for a local dog boarding company. We have looked after a wide variety of dogs, including Boxers, Staffies, Dalmatians, Cockerpoos, Pointers, Weimaraners, Labradors, Pugs, mixed breeds - the list is endless. The company we volunteered with have provided a reference confirming our reliability and experience, which I can provide to anyone interested. Whilst doing the home boarding we had an annual home assessment, completed by our local council, to check our suitability and gain our boarding permit. I also cat sit for my neighbour on a regular basis, and we really enjoy looking after cats on house sits. I am used to handling rabbits and small furries too. We looked after over 20 rabbits on one house sit and we previously had our own fancy rats. I have included lots of photos of these animals happy and relaxed in our care.

A bit about us. We're a home educating family who love animals, travelling and being outdoors. I am vegan and my hobbies include upcycling clothes, crocheting, reading, seeing friends and growing my own fruit and veg. My children love gaming, exploring outdoors, martial arts, biking, seeing friends and spending time with furry companions. I am self employed as a partner in my husband's business, and prior to that an Operations and Project Manager for a successful building maintenance company. Due to work commitments my husband wouldn't be able to join us on many house sits and my eldest sometimes stays at home with his Dad if he has plans with friends. NB: Despite being vegan I have no issue with raw feeding, if that's your dog's diet, our dog is raw fed too.

I'm very house proud and we would treat your home with the utmost respect and leave it as we found it. I am a non smoker and don't drink alcohol. I have my own car, a 4x4 with large boot and dog guard, and a dog travel seat belt if required.

Our purpose on a house sit is to enjoy spending time with the animals in our care so we tend to spend many hours at the house, and if sitting for dogs, out exploring on walks with them.

As long as their recall is good, I'm confident walking dogs off lead - if that's what is requested of course.

Our requirements on a house sit are a clean, smoke free home with working smoke alarms fitted, one TV/screen with a hdmi port, and decent internet speeds so that my son/s can connect with their friends online while they're away.

We have done several house sits to date and been asked back to two of those several times because they were so happy with us. We're really enjoying it and would absolutely love to continue exploring different areas of the UK whilst looking after pets. Thank you for looking at our profile.

Claire and her boys are a lovely family to house sit. They are very kind and considerate and Tom absolutely loved them, in fact he was quite sulky when we returned! Claire kept us updated during our time away with lots of lovely photos of Tom and their activities and he enjoyed lots of love, care and walks. Claire kindly washed all of the bedding and the house was very clean and tidy. It was an absolute pleasure to have them house sit for us and of course take care of Tom and we would highly ... MORE

JILL (Halifax England, May 2023 - 5 days)
Aww, thank you Jill. We had such a lovely time looking after Tom and enjoying the area where you live. With the addition of the sunshine, we felt like we were on holiday.
Claire, her boys and lovely new puppy Mia came to look after our 3 Yr old dalmatian. The dogs got on amazingly well, the house was very well looked after (I couldnt even tell someone had been there) and I came home to one shattered and very loved pooch with lots of pictures from Claire, I hope her and her boys will stay again (big thank you!!) and also grateful to this site for finding you!! SARAH (Blackburn England, May 2021 - 1 night)
Aww, thank you Sarah, it was an absolute pleasure looking after Otis, he is an amazing dog. Mia and the boys had a such a lovely time. Josh is asking me daily how many days until we come back!
Claire and her 2 boys house sat for us at very short notice. I was so glad they got in touch. Lovely family who left the house spotless. The dogs were very well cared for (including a puppy). Claire was great at providing updates, but also just arriving at short notice and being able to be trusted to work everything out due to a very quick handover. Definitely recommend

AMY (Hessle England, Sep 2020 - 2 days)
Claire & her two sons house sat & took care of our 3 dogs for a week, we couldn't recommend them enough. We were initially anxious leaving our loved pets for a week but soon felt relaxed when Claire provided us with daily updates & pictures with how our dogs were doing. The dogs really took to the boys. Our house was also well looked after and left clean & tidy as well as our garden and plants.
