Hello! please call me Rusty.

62, Retired designer/illustrator

Hello, Hi. After long consideration I’m heading into the adventure of House Sitting, and really quite excited.

I am recently retired from a career in design, have 40+ years’ experience of holiday and residential letting, I’ve owned large and small dogs (including blind/old dogs), young and old cats (happy to deal with ‘mouse presents’), fish, chickens, ponies and I’ve cared for whatever my foster/stepchildren forgot that they owned. I have experience of caring for and medicating animals/livestock and machinery in Farm Sitting too,

I’m very keen on gardening and very capable of DIY and happy to make safe any problems should the need arise. I am a patient, non-smoker, and trustworthy, I'm quietly self-reliant but gregarious, security conscious and able to solve whatever problems arise during your absence, I practice mindfulness meditation and love walking, cycling and sea swimming. You can go on holiday safe in the knowledge that your pets and home are in good hands..

I live well but simply and understand the meaning of ‘a clean house’ through my lettings and understand ‘a happy pet’ and what it takes to achieve and maintain a waggy tail or purring puss.

Good communication is a priority for me prior to my stay, additionally I have a largish campervan which means I can arrive early at your home and spend a hour/day or two with you and your pets before the sit actually starts and flexibility after it should finish if required. I would appreciate being able to park the campervan on your drive during my stay for security, certainly within sight of the house. A campervan is great for doggy adventures too of course.

If you have garden jobs/projects/maintenance then I am happy to do small jobs for free, larger projects such as digging the veg patch or painting the fence would be paid, please. I know my way around chainsaws, old cars, strimmers, motorbikes, tractors etc.

I would keep you regularly updated with photographs and stories of your pets, if you wish me to, and you would return to an immaculate house and everything in order.

Thankyou for considering me to care for your home and pets. I will respect and care for your home and pets as if they were my own.

Lastly, I sit for friends, and friends of friends, this is my first time through a website so there may be few or no reviews simply because you may well be my first sit. I am happy to ask friends/owners to talk to you as my referees.

Thankyou! I'm so looking forward to this. Rusty

Graeme was perfect for my first experience with a house and pet sitter. He was clear in his communications either side of the sit and sent a brief daily update while I was away, usually with a photo or two. He left the house immaculately tidy and clean, even to the point of putting on a wash! I would happily recommend Graeme to other potential hosts and would certainly welcome him back here.

Graeme sent us regular up dates on the cat and chickens. He looked after everything really well and left the house neat and tidy. I would highly recommend him .
