We are retired Australian public (civil) servants who, after 35 years of government work at executive level, have been exploring new horizons and experiences and enjoying our freedom by housesitting around the world.

After a regular, repeat assignment, managing and caring for a small resort in Fiji and its resident cat, we returned to Australia in March 2020 with plans to return to the UK some 6 weeks later. Well, COVID19 put an end to that!

Following the COVID years we have spent most of our house sitting time assisting the owners of our regular, repeat housit in Fiji as they renovated and updated the property. Early 2024 saw us again return to Fiji, Following our return to Australia in mid April we will "regroup" for a couple of weeks then head to New Zealand following which we plan to return to the U.K. Please contact us if we can be of assistance in caring for your home and companion pets.

We have been drawn to housesitting as it gives us the means to spend time in different locations and to "get below the surface" and discover what it is like to actually live in these locations. As we are looking to move away from Canberra, we see housesitting here in Australia as giving us an opportunity to "try before we buy" as we look to identify where we would like move to start the next stage of our lives.

In Canberra Australia, we are home owners so we know and fully understand the importance of the care, security and maintenance of one's home - especially when travelling (which we love!). In addition to the pleasure of enjoying the company of the pets we care for, house sitting gives us the opportunity to spend time "soaking up" the everyday experiences of living in various countries and locales.

While we prefer locations with access to public transport, we are open to renting a vehicle. We both drive and have clean driving records and maximum no claim bonuses on our personal vehicle insurances.

We are both non-smokers. I am a keen gardener and walker and enjoy doggy company on my walks. I am a conscientious and fastidious cleaner and would look after your home and contents with care and respect. We have previously cared for dogs, cats, birds, fish, hamsters and a "free range" rabbit.

We can provide multiple house sit and pet care references, character references and a police check. We have undertaken housesits through two other sites as well as Housesitters UK. Skype or messenger contact details can also be provided so you can "meet" us to assess our suitability for your needs.
