A bit about me ....
My name is Vicky and I've recently relocated back to Yorkshire after sixteen years of living on the beautiful island of Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands, Spain. I am a retired (68) teacher of English to Spanish children and adults. Prior to my move to Spain in 2004, I was employed by the Home Office so I have a high level of security clearance for your added peace of mind.
My house/pet-sitting experience
In the UK I had a lovely dog named Lady. She lived to the ripe old age of 18 years. Sadly, in 2003 she went t over the Rainbow Bridge and this left a huge void in my life.
When I moved over to Gran Canaria from the UK my first job was dog walking. This progressed to pet-sitting both at my place and at other people's houses. I then moved to a different area where pets, unfortunately, weren't allowed.
After a year or so I decided I was ready and the time was right to make a full commitment and take on a pet of my own once more. I moved to a beachfront apartment where animals were permitted and I rescued Ruby from an animal shelter.
Why do I want to house/pet sit?
Since early retirement and the very sad passing away of my Ruby (dog), I realised how much time I had on my hands and how little travelling I have done recently. This opened my mind and gave me the incentive to join up as a pet/house sitter. I've only just started with House Sitters UK, but I've been a member of another popular website since May, 2018. I've successfully completed over 90 sits, all 5* reviews (50/50 dogs and cats) which I'm more than happy to share with home owners if requested. To be completely transparent, I should mention that I do not sit for free but my fees are fair and negotiable.
I know how difficult it can be to get someone reliable who you can trust 100% to look after your house and/or furry friends so by offering my services I am hoping that all sides can benefit - you to have your pets/house cared for and me to enjoy your animals while seeing new places.
I feel that in your absence I can offer your pets the love and attention they usually get from you and I hope you'll be happy to let me do so.

Vicky
Vicky is a 5*sitter she is excellent with the animals attends all their needs administers medication & generally gives them the best care possible.The house is left clean & tidy & we would recommend her to anybody.We use Vicky as often as we can as she is 100% reliable & a lovely person thank you Vicky you are much appreciated by us all.
Vicky came to our house to sit for Frank our Shar Pei. This is her third visit and as usual she provided an excellent service.
She and Frank have a very close bond and both enjoyed the stay.
Vicky kept to Frank’s usual routine, which we like, and toile him for his regular walks.
We enjoyed our holiday safe in the knowledge that Frank was happy and safe.

Our pets were fantastically looked after Vicky dispensed medication to our elderly cat. Our dog & 3 cats loved her to bits.The house was clean & tidy & communication was great.We have booked Vicky for further Sits as we are so impressed with her.
Once again Vicky has proved a very reliable and trustworthy sitter.
We have used Vicky in the past to look after our Shar pei, Frank and would have no hesitation in asking her again. Frank absolutely loves her!!
Despite the freezing weather in Feb/March Vicky took Frank for his usual walks and stuck to his routine. We enjoyed our holiday safe in the knowledge that Frank was safe and happy.

Vicky looked after Frank our dog while we were away. She was reliable, professional Frank absolutely loved her.
All communications and queries were answered swiftly and she completely it our minds at rest about the whole process.
I would not hesitate in recommending her in the future and we will certainly use her again.
Very happy with the help we got from Vicky. Our cats were well looked after, no problems with the house and returned to washed sheets and a newly made up bed. Communication was good as one of our cats needed to go to the vet, Vicky was able to help organise this with my sister. Thanks very much, would definitely recommend Vicky as a sitter.
I just wanted to thank Vicky for her care and dedication to my house and pets, Lola and Minty . This was my first experience of THS and i will be certainly using the service again . Vicky was kind, professional and very dedicated to the two animals in her care leaving our property in a lovely condition upon our return
We were quite nervous about letting someone look after our pets and our home but after a trial 3 nights with Vicky and her friend Lesley any worries were completely forgotten. Vicky was excellent, she bonded straight away with all three of our dogs and you could tell that Vicky really does love dogs and genuinely enjoys looking after them.
Vicky's communication beforehand and throughout the stay was excellent which was also very important to us.
