We are an active couple that love to combine travel with meeting new animals (and their owners!). We are South African residents but are currently based in the UK. All of Andy's family are domiciled here as are are our kids and grand kids.
We have done house sitting previously in 2014 for a year in England, Scotland and Spain. We are still in contact with most of those owners. At the time we worked through Trusted Housesitters and still have a couple of references on their platform.
We have been self employed for the last 36 years running small businesses in South Africa.
Andy was born in London and Darice in Johannesburg. Andy did quite a bit of travelling in his younger years and ended up in Johannesburg working at a Boys Home.
We keep fairly fit by walking and love to explore new places and to meet people from all walks of life.
We are non-smokers, vaccinated and in good health.
We would like to spend the next couple of years pet/house sitting, working occasionally on a temporary basis and catching up with our kids and grand kids.
We enjoy listening to music, red wine, watching good comedy and getting out into the great outdoors.
Andy and Darice were absolutely brilliant, lovely people, communication really good. Kept us updated about our animal family the whole nine weeks, who were spoilt and probably didn't want them to leave. It's the first time we've done this, they made the whole process run like clockwork.
We can't thank them enough.
And i can't recommend them enough, reliable, friendly and trustworthy.

After meeting Andy I felt confident that my house was left in a safe pair of hands, and I was not wrong. I returned to find the house clean and in good order, and the garden in a tidier state than when I left, as Andy had been advancing some of the many projects I have going on. A sterling fella who I would not hesitate to call upon again. Thank you Andy.
Fantastic house-sitters and a really lovely couple! From the initial chat we felt secure in having asked them to sit. Communication beforehand and during our time away was excellent, Andy drove us to get our airport bus and nothing seemed too much trouble. Andy and Darice were calm and kind house sitters. I found the house tidy on my return and cats happy. It was a shame that we didn't actually get to meet but we had some good WhatsApp communication and all went well. Recommended.
Andy and Darice were outstanding in every way.
They are lovely warm interesting people, were fantastic with Monty, communication was excellent, nothing was too much trouble, the house was spotless when I returned, and they even brought their own bedding.
If you have booked them to house sit for you, then you're very lucky!!
We're not even sure where to start here as no words or review of Andy and Darice's house sitting could do them justice! As fellow South Africans we felt an instant kinship - but I think had they been from Timbuktu we'd have felt the same way. Andy and Darice were instantly part of the family and took exceptional care of our pups! Toby and Bowie were sadder to see them go than they were happy to see us return. Andy was great - he communicated well, is friendly, trustworthy, respectful of other people’s property and left the house in a great condition. I wouldn’t hesitate to ask him to look after my house again.
Andy and Darice were the perfect house sitters for us. They communicated regularly and reliably and attended to things proactively as well as fulfilling the various tasks we had asked for promptly. We were really reassured having them in place while we were on the other side of the world and we will be very happy to see them back in a few months when we go away again.
Andy and Darcie made us feel comfortable from the beginning. We knew Penny and our home were in good hands. Penny was spoilt with love and attention and our home left immaculate.
Portland is a great place to explore and they made the most of it.

Couldn't be more pleased with the care Andy and Darice gave our fur babies. Unfortunately we had to come home early due to covid. This wasn't an issue for them. They left our home in good condition and even went as far as to check up on us a few days later to see how we were doing. Hopefully they will come back in the future and sit for us again.
This was our first time doing getting house sitters and Andy and Darice put our minds at rest straight away. They are very thoughtful, practical and kind people and our dog instantly warmed to them. They are great communicators and we had a few exchanges whilst away but just enough to know the dog was settled and Andy helped Craig out with some remote computer issues. Superlatives don't describe what an amazing couple Andy and Darice are. Kind, capable and unflappable, they looked after the manor, the grounds and my apartment beautifully. In fact the place has never looked so good. I was also able to spend some time with Andy and Darice in between my travels and they are good company with a good sense of humour. I can't recommend them highly enough - except for the fact I don't want them becoming so popular they can't come back for my next sit.......!
Andy and Darice were fantastic sitters for Poppy and Koshka and really looked after our home whilst we were away, We came back to a sparkling clean home (Andy had even fixed our sticking gate - Thank you Andy) and two very contented furries. Andy & Darice were my first ever house sitters and I am so pleased I took the plunge. I came home to a very happy cat and a clean house. Maddie cat had obviously enjoyed their company and cuddles. My lawn had been mowed and plants watered. Couldn't ask for more!! I would definitley have Andy and Darice back to look after Maddie and our cottage again,
Andy and Darice were the perfect house sitters for us, this being our 1st time, we were naturally a little apprehensive. Our dogs gave them a typical ridgeback welcome and we were confident and happy, when seeing the dogs settle in their company, that they would easily cope with our sometimes boisterous dogs. Andy & Darice, were excellent sitters and would definitely be very happy if they sat again. The dogs were very happy with them and they put my worries at ease with a photo of them enjoying being with them. We came back to an immaculate house and everything taken care of. We were a little disappointed that they didn't eat any of our food or even use our toilet rolls!..... lol......
Would highly recommend to anyone looking for reliable sitters.
Darice and Andy are absolutely amazing. From the first time we spoke, any worries we had, vanished. Walter and Angel adored their "temporary mum and dad" as their routine was kept as usual so there was minimal disruption.
Whilst in holiday, we received regular videos, photos and updates.
Our house had been spring cleaned too which was a lovely bonus that we weren't expecting. The garden was kept clean too.
All in all, Darice and Andy went over and above in every single way.
