Hello Experienced and active house sitters. non smoker . We enjoy travelling the country and loving and caring for animals.
We have looked after dogs, cats, fish, rabbits,hamsters,guinea pig, reptiles and birds and chickens. In November 2018 I retired after 41 years in local government. For 28 years I worked in the housing service managing various teams of staff then made a side way step into social care where I was the joint commissioning manager for the development of services and contract monitoring of all older people services for 12 years.As such I was DBS checked.
I have often undertaken house sits alone but will sometimes be joined by husband. We are both trustworthy, Non Smokers, and only participate in an occasional social drink. We are both qualified housing officers having passed three years examinations for the chartered institute of Housing in the 198os. We managed teams of staff responsible for housing estates and contractors during our 25 years as housing managers. We have completed thirty two house sits in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019,2020.,2021,,2022,2023 . you can find the endorsements online.
Please note that I have a minor hearing problem so i am not comfortable discussing sits on the phone but happy to use messaging or email to confirm arrangements by email or phone messaging. if necessary I can use the phone but I am always a little unsure if I have heard everything accurately. We provided voluntary fostering to the RSPCA for 15 years so have a wide experience of caring for Cats and Rabbits . this included looking after cats with serious physical health conditions and behavior issues .

Lorna and Malcolm spent a week in my home looking after my very loved but quite demanding Siamese kitty. As you all realise this is a tricky time for anyone to stay in a strangers home, as well as to have someone you don't know being in your space. After sounding out Lorna as to how she and Malcolm had been adapting to the Covid restrictions, I felt confident that my home would be lived in as I myself have been doing for the last months. Lorna and Mal were great house and pet sitters. This was the first time we had used this service and we were naturally anxious how it would work. Prior to the house/pet sit, Lorna responded promptly to our queries setting our minds at ease. She arrived a couple of hours before we left for our holiday so that we could fully brief her on the house and our cat Issy. Issy took to her straight away. Lorna's partner Mal joined Lorna a few days later. Lorna communicated with us whilst we were away, ... MORELorna and Mal were great house and pet sitters. This was the first time we had used this service and we were naturally anxious how it would work. Prior to the house/pet sit, Lorna responded promptly to our queries setting our minds at ease. Lorna and Malcolm sat for us at our home on the south coast in September. Aside from the bungalow they cared for our assorted collection of aviary birds.
The birds were well cared for and fighting fit when we came home and the bungalow was very clean and tidy.

Lorna and Malcolm looked after my 2 cats, 2 geese, 2 ducks & 5 chickens and cockerels for a 6 days in July. Everything was perfect with good communication throughout the sit and I came back to a lovely clean and tidy house and of course very contented animals. Lorna & Malcolm sat for 10 days for us in March 2018 to look after our house as well as 2 cats and a cold water fish. They did a great job of keeping everyone happy, despite a few challenges along the way including a power cut and awful weather for the majority of their stay!They kept in contact before and during the stay which was reassuring, and everything was as we left it when we got back, so we couldn't have asked for more.
