I am a retired librarian, who has been house and pet sitting with my husband, Roger, since 2018. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to do some easy low cost travelling together, while helping others to fulfill their own travel arrangements. It's been a complete pleasure to spend time with so many pets, meet some lovely new people and make return visits to many of them. Now that I am a widow, I would like to continue doing something we enjoyed so much together, though as I don't drive I will have to restrict the areas I travel to.
Although I am pet free now, I have owned many pets, and would enjoy caring for cats, fish, rabbits, guinea pigs, poultry, waterfowl and small caged animals and birds in non-smoking households.
I am a flexible and easy-going person, and have a respectful and responsible attitude to my house-sitting duties. I am quiet, clean and tidy, a non-smoker and have been DBS checked (government Disclosure and Barring Service).

Brilliant sitters. Gwen & Rogr have sat for 'Tilly' and the chooks several times now. On this occasion they had to cope with emergency garden fence repairs, to keep the chooks safe (in terrible weather) and a cat who decided she no longer could manage the cat flap and is more 'miss than hit' with a litter tray. Highly recommended.
It’s always a delight to have Gwen come and pet sit. She is so kind and accommodating around our family, and really super with the bunnies. Floppy and Archie are so relaxed with her when she calls to collect the keys, and hence completely unphased by our departure. Gwen was everything we could have asked for and more! Gwen took care of our two kitties beautifully and left our house cleaner than we left it. She was a joy to communicate with and really put our minds at ease while we were away for 3 weeks. We would absolutely recommend Gwen to anyone and hope to see her again!
Gwen is wonderful! She made this, our first house-sitting experience, feel so easy and seamless! We had great communication, and Gwen was especially kind to come and visit before we left for a holiday. I had so much confidence in her, and she was so thoughtful. Gwen was a lovely house sitter and we were delighted to have her care for our house rabbits, home and garden. She was able to come in advance to meet the bunnies and get orientated. and she asked lots of thoughtful questions to best understand our pets' needs. Gwen was simply the best! It was our first time using House Sitters and she was incredibly kind and patient, explaining how it works. She was the perfect house guest - the house was the cleanest it has ever been when she left, and she was super thoughtful in her communication and care for the house. Gwen and Roger looked after our cat Nala wonderfully and at very last minute over the Christmas period. They kept us in communication, even sending photos of Nala for us. The house was left very tidy and was if no one was even there ☺️

We feel very lucky to have met Gwen and Roger. From our first contact they were caring, considerate and accommodating. As soon as we met them in person, we felt reassured that our home, pets and garden were in good hands. Gwen and Roger have cat sat for me this week. They are a lovely friendly couple and on meeting them l knew my cats and house were in safe hands. I had plenty of communication from Gwen on how my cats were doing and also photos. My cats seemed fine and happy on my return yesterday. My garden was kept watered and the fish fed. All the used bedding had been washed and my house was spotless on my return. They also left me bread, milk and a lovely bunch of flowers. I would love for them to sit ... MORE
Gwen and Roger were perfect sitters. Constant communication prior to the sit and they kept us posted with occasional photos and updates on our cats during the sit. We returned to two well looked after cats and a house that seemed cleaner than when we left! They also coped happily with the additional needs of bird and wild hedgehog feeding. Gwen and Roger were fantastic. The whole experience was straightforward, happy, and efficient. Communication was great, they are lovely people, the house was spotless on our return, and the cats happy. I will definitely invite them back to house and pet sit for us again, next time we go away!

From first contact I was sure that I was leaving the house & my 2 cats in safe hands, & I wasn't proved wrong.
Communication leading up to & during the sit was great, I had a great chat with Gwen before the sit was confirmed, & we then stayed in contact by text until they left.
The cats were both calm & well cared for on my return, and I'm fairly sure the house was cleaner than I had left it! I'm just sorry we didn't get to meet in person.

Gwen and Roger were excellent house sitters! They met with us beforehand, and were great at keeping in contact throughout. The house was spotless on our return, and our cat was very relaxed and happy. Looking forward to having them back next year.
Gwen and Roger were absolutely lovely from start to finish, and went above and beyond to look after our two energetic cats. They kept us closely in touch with how things were going, before, during, and at the end of the housesit. We'd recommend them unreservedly!

Gwen and Roger were amazing. They communicated before, during and after our trip with no problem. I had every confidence that our fur babies were well cared for.

Gwen and her husband were fantastic sitters. I came back to a spotless house and very happy cats. It's a big house and garden so no mean feat to get it looking so good. I would highly recommend them. Also they were very friendly and easy to communicate with.
We met Gwen and roger before they house sat, and we couldn't have wished for nicer people in our house.
We came back to happy cats, a spotless house, and the washing done and all folded (did you even do some ironing???) and a freshly made bed.
Oh- and gifts!

We had a good feeling about Gwen & Roger from the first email and we were proved right! They were extremely respectful and thoughtful, and took good care of our home (I think they left it tidier than when we left!) More importantly, they looked after our cat like she was their own, and provided us with regular updates and photos. I would highly recommend them as house sitters!
Gwen & Roger were the perfect house sitters. Great communication throughout, due to location they were able to visit before the sit to go through the routine. House and garden perfect on return. Tilly the cat didn't blink an eye on our return - always a complement to the house sitters - if not very gratifying for us! Very happy that they are coming back later in the year. Would absolutely recommend for peace of mind for your home and pets.
There is nothing more secure than having people at home while you're away. Get a house sitter.
