Dear House-Owners,

thank you for looking at my profile. I am Melanie, 39 years of age, originally from Germany, I'm a writer and also work part time in elderly care.

I used to be a live-in nanny, so I know how to respect the privacy of someone elses home.

I am a very caring person and am confident to look after any pet. I have looked after cats as well as dogs. In my previous nanny role the family had 2 cats that I looked after when they went away. Also when I was au pairing in Australia I looked after the families dog when they were on holiday.

So, why do I want to housesit?

In the past I joined housesitters when I was primarily working on my book. I have done quite a few housesits up until now and really enjoyed meeting owners and pets. Quite a few owners are very good friends of mine now and therefore I have done quite a few "return sits" as well, which is very nice!

Some sits I do on my own and some with my partner. We've been together for 5 years in May. When he joins the responsibility stays with me, as this is my profile, however he loves pets and they love him!

I would love to meet in person if possible. If you are further away we can have a phone conversation to get to know each other.

Melanie did an excellent job looking after our house and cat. Her email communication was very fast and we agreed a time when she could come around for an advance visit to see the house and cat and so we could meet her. This was our first Housesitter job and our minds were put at rest when she asked practical questions that showed she had obviously done this before. No rating Melanie is the perfect house sitter. She is clever, sensible and confident, but also calm and easy going. From the moment we were in contact, she was attentive and full of common sense questions, so that setting up the house sit was very easy. We knew that we were leaving everything in safe hands. She took excellent care of our house and three cats while we were away. The cats clearly received plenty of attention and love. We can't recommend her more highly.
