Happy you!
With a house sitter looking after your pets, house and garden - you can really relax. Happy days.
52, Rehabilitation Support Worker
Sensible, respectful, quiet-living, animal-loving, security conscious person.
I have grown up always having pets (-big dogs, cats, birds-) and have several previous years` experience of working as a full-time animal carer(-cats and poultry section-) at an animal rescue centre. There I also gained experience of giving medication and knowing the importance of giving each individual animal the time and space it needs to feel comfortable and relaxed. I have extra experience home sitting and taking over the running of a cattery, which my mum ran, when she went away on holiday-in addition to looking after her several rescue cats and dog. I also volunteer, at the same animal rescue centre where I previously worked, as a dog walker walking various breeds of dogs.
I know in the past, having been in the position of whether to take my pets to a cattery/kennels or have pop-in care, that the latter is much more closer to a comfortable choice for the animal and for the owner. I do feel that the option to have somebody available to bond with the animal, in the absence of its` owners, would be the absolute preferred option(-plus, you are gaining the added security advantage of your home still looking occupied).
I would look after your home and pets as if they were my own. As I am a keen (-all weather-) walker, and love the outdoors, I would gladly take my new pet companion along with me, to whatever their walking ability/need is. I will also, very happily, keep you informed as to how we are getting on.
I am personally looking for occasional house/pet sits, as I do work full-time (-2 long week days), but have the ability to manage my own work/time off outside of a short set rota period. I do not have any dependants (-children or pets-), so my time outside of work is my own to decide how I use it. My purpose for applying to home/pet sit is to allow me to have the company of a pet again, albeit for a short period (-as this is something that I do really miss, but cannot justify taking on a pet of my own when I do work long shifts). I would look to be sitting when not working and when taking a planned break. I, therefore, would like to be able to see other parts of the UK but would not be looking to leave my new fur buddy/your home for extended periods.
