Hello pet owners,
I am a recently retired teacher in Religious Studies at Saint Mary's University in Nova Scotia, Canada. I have dual UK/Canadian citizenship and moved to the UK in August 2022 to live closer to my daughter and her husband in Cardiff. After 7 months of house-sitting and exploring different corners of Britain, I finally found a new home for myself in Swansea in March 2023.
My experience with animals includes living on a farm for 15 years with chickens, turkeys, sheep, honey bees, and large gardens. I have owned my share of cats and dogs, and often look after friends' pets - a cat for 3 years (Middy, pictured here waiting for me to come to bed), and shorter stints with dogs like Chloe from Montreal (seeing the Atlantic Ocean for the first time) and Juno (the reluctant swimmer). At the beginning of COVID my neighbour's cat, Buddy (here snoozing in the sun) decided he liked my place, so he became a bit of a permanent fixture - with the neighbour's blessing, of course.
I'm a non-smoker and can easily be vegetarian in vegetarian homes. I do not have a car. Because I now have a home in Wales, I will be doing fewer house-sits but am still interested in the occasional one. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Wynne took really great care of our dogs, ducks and chickens whilst we went away for a week. EVERYTHING she did was great - highly recommended and very grateful to her.
We were so grateful to Wynne for stepping in and looking after the house (and our cat!) between Xmas and New Year. Wynne was really communicative and stayed in touch throughout. She is such a nice lady and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Wynne as a house sitter.
Wynne was a great house sitter. She was communicative and very reliable. We met over Zoom but never met in person. Despite that, the sit worked well. Our notoriously distant cat warmed to her - and she doesn't warm to everyone! Thank you Wynne.
Wynne was a great housesitter, We knew we would be able to trust the house and the dogs to her as soon as we met her. The dogs warmed to her straight away and were great friends when we returned from our holiday. Wynne was very good at communicating both before and during her stay, even making the effort to visit to meet us and the dogs a couple of weeks before the house sit. She was very flexible and considerate.
I'd highly recommend Wynne as a sitter, we met in advance which was very reassuring to know that Jasper (and the house) would be in such good hands. Communication was excellent, and I received several photos showing Jasper in action. On my return it was obvious that the house had been well looked after.
Wynne was a wonderful house/cat sitter whilst myself and my partner were away for 2 weeks. We were sent pictures, as well as updates which helped us to have a relaxed holiday. The cats obviously enjoyed their time with Wynne as they were incredibly relaxed on our return. We were so grateful to find some home made soup in our fridge that Wynne had left for us. Wynne sat for us for over 2 weeks while we were in Canada visiting relatives. She kept in touch regularly in the run up and during the sit and totally inspired confidence from the moment she arrived - both from us and Millie !
She is a remarkable character - very resourceful and competent. She for instance managed to integrate more into village life in two weeks than we have managed in the 18 months we have lived here .

Wynne cared for our two pets whilst we were away on our honeymoon.
Wynne was absolutely great with pets and we had regular updates in regards to how they were getting on.
Our home was spotless when we got home and we felt at ease with her being at our home.

Wynne was warm, friendly and reassuring. She looked after Caspar and the house with great care, even leaving us a lovely card at the end.
Everything about Wynne staying at ours was easy. Her communication was great, both before, during and after her stay. The house and cats were well cared for and we never once worried whilst we were away, we knew Wynne had everything covered. I would definitely recommend her.
