Gavin & Noleen

24-years married, semi-retired and looking to explore! Gavin is originally from Northern Ireland and Noleen is South African. We are non-smokers, have been home-owners for more than 20 years and have taken pride in maintaining and improving the various properties we have lived with. We currently have a small dog who loves walks and trout fishing. She does not form part of the house-sitting team.

Over the years we have travelled extensively and have worked in a number of countries in Africa and South America. Currently, we stay in a fairly isolated, off-grid location in the hills of Mpumalanga, South Africa. Most of the home maintenance work is done by ourselves. We gather our own firewood for heating and have a vegetable garden which the antelope and porcupines would love to get into. Occasionally we have be known to run off the local hills with paragliders. It is quite chilly here during our winter/UK summer and that is the ideal time for us to to spend some time away.

We have been house sitting the UK summer season, through this website, since 2019 (with a Covid-induced break in 2020) and our "clients" have kindly provided reviews/references.

We are happy to stay in rural locations, as long as there is transport available. Bicycles/kayaks/yachts would also be great for exploring! We are open to staying in any region, but our preference at this stage would be the West Country, Wales or the Scottish Islands. We also prefer sits of longer duration that give us time to get to know an area in more depth.
