We are a happily married couple currently living in Italy (we both have Italian fathers), where we teach English at our own private school. We started house sitting regularly in 2018 because we love pets and exploring the UK.
We house sit primarily from June to September, but we are happy to consider other dates, too, provided that they are school holidays!
We have both had pets for most of our lives and we are especially fond of cats. We decided not to have any when we moved in together because we work very long hours during the school year and travel in summer, so we don't think it would be fair to the animal.
I (Sonia) am a keen gardener and DIY lover, though I wouldn't say I'm an expert, Alexis is a really good "house-husband".
We are both non-smokers, virtually non-drinkers and hard working. So far, we have looked after cats, dogs and fish, but I have also taken care of turtles and rabbits in the past. If there's anything else you would like to know, feel free to ask any questions.
We would recommend Sonia and alexis without hesitation. A great couple, friendly and amenable.
House was left clan and tidy and cats well looked after. Would have them back anytime!
Sonia and Alexis were lovely and so accommodating especially as the public transport system really didn't make it easy to get to me on Boxing Day. They emailed me whilst I was away to let me know that my boy was doing ok and when I got home he was fit and well and the flat was neat and tidy. I wouldn't hesitate to have them sit for me again or to recommend them to others.
It was a joy to have Sonia and Alexis as our house-sitters this year. It was great to meet them and spend some time together before we set off on our trip, especially because we knew in advance that they had to leave before our return. During our holiday we kept in touch which was nice too. Upon our return we found the house in tip-top condition as well as a lovely personal note. Sonia and Alexis were fantastic house sitters, my cat was spoilt rotten, and is missing them both! They looked after the house wonderfully and even watered our garden. I can recommend them totally and they were the best guests you could hope for to look after your pets and house. I would not hesitate to ask them to house sit again, if they could. Lovely people, very friendly and responsible. Arrived and left as agreed. We found our house safe and sound with the animals not showing any signs of distress, as if we never left! Slightly jealous they didn't miss us enough, but it is a good sign showing they were happy with Sonia and Alex. We wish Sonia and Alex all the best!
