I am retired, a non smoker and fit for my age
I am vegetarian and enjoy cooking for myself
I am friendly and outgoing, I like meeting new people and am reliable, straightforward and honest
Single, amicably separated from long term partner a few years ago
I grew up with cats, always liked them, usually they like me! They are such curious, interesting and individual creatures!
I have looked after flats and houses for friends and family many times over the years including their various pets, houseplants and gardens sometimes for periods of months in London, Kent, Norfolk, Zurich, Bangkok etc
I have been a house owner in the past so I am well aware of security issues, locking up, checking windows etc when out
Good with houseplants, gardening experience
Practical with extensive interior and exterior DIY experience
I enjoy reading, listening to music, watching films, swimming and walking
I am much traveled in many countries and continents and enjoy exploring and getting to know new places
I grew up and lived in London for many years and have lived in many places including many years in the countryside in various places in UK and Germany
I speak English, German and some French
I recently returned from a number of years travelling abroad, hence the interest in house sitting

Steve was a great house sitter! He clearly really likes and knows cats and bonded well with our furry princess. He sent photos and let us know that she was fine. The house was clean and tidy when we returned from our week's holiday. Communication was easy; he was responsive as needed. This was the first time I had used a pet sitter and I cannot say just how great the arrangement was. Steve was the perfect pet sitter! I left feeling that my cat and house were in extremely safe hands, and I wasn't disappointed. Its fair to say that my cat missed him as soon as he went. Steve is an aimiable, thoughtful, caring person, who communicated clearly. We got on very well. He looked after our elderly cat with great attention and affection; she seemed very contented on our return. I would ask Steve to house sit again, and highly recommend him.

Stephen looked after our house for 7 weeks whilst we were away. He is conscientious and easy to get along with. He made sure he had all the relevant information about our house before we left. We had a few household issues while we were away which he dealt with very competently. He left the house tidy. I would recommend him without reservation.

Stephen was friendly, organised and considerate. He took good care of our house and two cats, and kept us updated while we were away. We can thoroughly recommend him as a sitter for your house and pets.

Steve was an excellent house sitter, who took very good care of our two black cats. He also left our house spotless after the two and half week sit. Our female black cat is very shy but took to Steve very well which was very reassuring for us. Steve's communication before and during the sit was comprehensive and he was not afraid to ask us about any detail to ensure that the cats were well looked after during his stay. We would not hesitate to use him again in the future.

Steve was a great housesitter taking excellent care of my two cats and my house .He was easy to communicate with both before and during the sit . Steve was a lovely guy to have around! He’s got lots of interesting chat and Bailey took to him straight away! My flat was clean and tidy upon my return and he even stripped the bed for me and my plants are all happy too! I have already booked him for my next trip away. I highly recommend this lovely gent!

Our two cats have very different personalities and Steve looked after them very well. He also fed our nocturnal visitors, the hedgehogs. His communication was excellent throughout from booking to arrangements for arrival and through the sit. The house was well cared for and clean and tidy on our return. Steve is a well traveled, calm and interesting person and we would recommend him to others .

We consider ourselves to be very fortunate in finding Steve via House Sitters UK to take care of the house and our cat Enzo whilst we were away. Steve came over to the house a couple of weeks prior to our departure and it was a pleasure to discover that we had a lot of common interests. Steve was responsive in his communication throughout and left the house very clean and tidy, which is so appreciated after a week away. Binx can be a shy cat but it sounds that Steve was able to win her round, which is so positive, especially as they are all different! I would recommend Steve as a house and cat sitter.

Steve has been a great sitter, looking after Daisy, all the house plants, and the pots and veggies in the garden as well, during the hot weather. He left the house clean and tidy and everything is in good order when I got back. Steve is very friendly and chatty, and I heartily recommend him for house and cat sitting.
