Hello there! My name is Hugh. I am a 54 years young Irishman. I am reliable, honest and mature. A proud father of two young men both of whom live in Dublin. I am an enthusiastic soul with a happy disposition.
I moved to the UK (London) in 2018 having lived in California for 17 years. I have worked here for the past few years as a customer service agent, This job has been online since the lockdown started.. I am also a professional actor & musician.
So how did I become a housesitter? A friend suggested I would be a perfect fit for being a housesitter after I housesat for her & her dog. She was right. From my very first official HS UK sit I realised what a great fit house sitting is for me. I am really enjoying the adventures & fun experiences that come with the house sitting journey and I have done it full time ever since.
I am patient and caring and have a deep appreciation for the life lessons pets teach us every day. Teaching us among other things to be truly present in the moment. They are like little fur baby angels sent to love & protect us. I have housesit for dogs and enjoyed it but I have learned on this housesitting journey that I am very definitely a cat person.
I learned as an actor to take direction well and am flexible and willing to work with you on whatever your individual needs are for your sit. I look forward to hearing from you :)

I feel very lucky to have had Hugh look after my Cat BiLLEEe. From the moment I met Hugh - I felt he was a very kind and good soul.
He agreed to stay one night with me there so I could show him around the apartment and how to administer the insulin shot.
Hugh was considerate of my home and left it clean and tidy - Going as far as to wash bedsheets etc - he has a lovely calming energy and I didn't feel any concern with him taking care of the cat and my home whilst being away - he also ... Hugh is a lovely chap and genuine animal lover who took great care of our cats Django and Socksie at our flat in Hove while we were away from 6th-13th August 2023, whatsapping regular messages and videos of the boys. He left flat nice and tidy too with towels and bedding washed Would thoroughly recommend Hugh as a pet sitter.

Hugh was fab! He obviously really loves cats and kept our two entertained and well loved. He went the extra mile for them when the cat litter was hard to find! House was in great shape when we got back - clean and tidy.
His communication was excellent prior to the house sit and then letting us see how happy the kitties were. I would happily ask him to come again!

Hugh was an excellent sitter and highly recommended. He was very diligent with taking care of the garden (even during a dry spell in June!) and everything was spotless when I returned. Spooky was very relaxed and happy so I could tell he was well cared for. Couldn't ask for better!

I feel incredibly lucky to have had Hugh house sit for me and my cat Kimi! He was incredibly flexible with last minute changes and more than happy to accommodate. I felt very relaxed leaving the keys for him and he was great at communicating throughout my holiday. The house was spotless on return and I really hope he can sit for me again whenever I am away!

Hugh did a wonderful job of looking after our cat, garden and house, for a week. He was kind and patient with our nervous cat, and sent us videos of her being stroked by him. He paid careful attention to the watering instructions for the garden, and left the house immaculate. We highly recommend Hugh and very much hope to use him again in the future.

We left our 10 year old labrador Jasper with Hugh for a week. He obviously had such a good time with Hugh that he could barely get out of his bed to greet us .when we returned home! The house was cleaner than when we left and Hugh kept us updated daily with photos of walks by the sea and stick carrying. We would definately ask him if he was free next time we go away.

Hugh was an absolute dream of a house sitter! He was quick to communicate, provided loads of photos and videos, and took excellent care of our home while we were away. Our house was clean and tidy upon our return, and all of our pets were happy and content. We were very thankful that he was able to come and meet us and our pets several weeks in advance of the sit to get the lay of the land, and ask any preliminary questions. We were away for 5 weeks, and we never felt worried or apprehensive ... MOREHugh was an absolute dream of a house sitter! Hugh was a perfect house sitter. Timely and helpful communication, photos and videos of my dogs and cat while I was away, and everything about my home expertly looked after. My friends liked Hugh very much, as did the fur babies, and my cat, a relatively recent addition to my household and normally a loud meower, had mellowed considerably, though I think he still misses Hugh. He made a real effort to get to know Panda and Sylvie, who can be quite shy around new people, so that by the end of the sit he had made a good bond with them. The house was very well looked after and spotless when we returned. Hugh kept us in the loop whilst we were away, and sent pictures / video of Sylvie "helping" him work which put our minds at rest.

Hugh was a fantastic sitter and our pets immediately took a liking to him (always a good sign). Even the cat! He kept us updated with photos and videos throughout the house sit, and we came home to some very loved and well cared for animals. The house was spotless and the houseplants had even been watered. On top of all this, Hugh was also extremely personable and we felt very relaxed leaving our house and animals in his hands. Would 100% have him back, and highly recommend him!
