Hi !
Im Claire, semi-retired from a lifelong career with animals, mainly horses (BHSAI qualified) but have also worked with dogs (sitting/walking/training) and had my own two rescue dogs - the second lovely boy for 18 years until 2020.
I recently retrained in dog, cat and equine Reiki after treating humans for 20 years !
I now volunteer locally for two horse shelters and a dog/cat shelter and have also been using the 'Workaway' website to travel and work/volunteer., where i have six years worth of excellent references.
I also ran my own cleaning business for 15 years alongside my horsey work, aswell as teaching flamenco, belly dance and yoga.
Im interested in low waste sustainable living, environmental and animal rights campaigning, rewilding, bird watching, walking, wild camping, travel and languages.
I am a non smoker/drinker and have a little micro camper for transport (and adventures !)

Claire was a wonderful sitter. She arrived on time, was immediately on great terms with the dogs and was obviously very used to animals. When we arrived home (a little late due to traffic problems, sorry!) the dogs seemed very relaxed and the house was spotless. I would highly recommend her. Thanks Claire! Any time you want to come again you would be very welcome.

It was a pleasure to meet Claire and she was a brilliant housesitter. She was easy to communicate with, she arrived promptly, was keen to ensure that she was fully aware of the house and animals and their needs and we were confident that we were leaving our home in capable hands. She left the house beautifully clean and tidy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to other homes.

Claire took on our menagerie and cared well for them all. She clearly has a connection with animals and we were able to have peace of mind knowing they would be safe and happy. She was flexible with our arrangements.
We were really grateful for the lovely clean boat on our return.
Thoroughly recommended.

I thought Claire was very responsible with out elderly cat, she certainly seemed to take good care of her, she had some issues with the internet, which we can't fathom because we don't have these issues but we will keep an eye on this.
Claire was flexible as we had builders in who hadn't finished and so she stayed in our annexe with the cat. We hadn't left our cat before and so were anxious about leaving her, but she seems very happy as per usual on our return.

Claire took fantastic care of all my pets and the house and was a great guest. She is extremely knowledgeable about animals and their care and provided some helpful training tips for the doggies. I would highly recommend Claire and would be delighted to welcome her to Islay again
