We are looking for a responsible, dog-loving person or couple to take care of our lovely cocker spaniel while we are away at the end of September to early October for about 2 weeks. There is a little flexibility about the start and end of the sit.
.We have a beautiful home in Northumberland and there are lots of places to visit. Murphy is a working cocker and needs firm handling on the lead,. He requires a shorter walk every morning and a long walk every afternoon (1-1/2 hours) and there is a park and extensive woodland in walking distance from our house. He does nor like the car or any cars so for this reason walks will need to start from home on lead. However, should you want to go out for a few hours, he is very secure in his own place and can be left for upto 5 hours. ,He is a very friendly, happy dog who loves attention-cuddles and to be with you while you are in the house. He is happy to lie wherever you are.and is very easy to have around in house. When gate is closed the garden is secure when you want to be outside with him.
We would appreciate, bins put out as required and plants watering if necessary.
We would prefer non-smokers and while we would want you to feel at home, we would not want parties or additional overnight guests..
Northumberland is stunning and we are near both coast and countryside. We are very near Alnwick Castle and gardens where there is a wonderful annual programme. Cragside is very near and Lindisfarne (Holy Island) is a short drive up the coast.
We hope that this is enough information to persuade the right person or couple to come and stay with Murphy while we are away.
Your own car is necessary as there are no buses that run through village!
