Recently retired we are looking forward to staying in the UK for longer periods. We'd love to care for your house and your pets and to get to know your area.
About us: I have worked in the Museum of Ettlingen, Germany, mainly in the educational section and my husband has managed our city's Cultural Department.
We both love hiking and the outdoors. My husband loves playing folk music on his accordion and playing the organ in church from time to time.
We are DIY people, love building furniture, decorating and gardening.

For many years England has been our second home. We have volunteered at a National Trust stately home in the South West every summer for 12 years. Belonging to a community and contributing to an organization we admire was much preferred to just travelling as a tourist. We made friends and would love to get to know more people and much more of our favourite country.
Friends we met through volunteering are happy to have us housesitting their property every year while we stay. We love looking after the garden and the house. We are houseowners ourselves and would look after yours like our own.
Currantly we don't own pets but over the years we have had two dogs and guinea pigs, as well as cats, chickens, budgies and even white mice :) in our youth.
Our daughter is always happy to have us as her dogsitter.
With our children we have had many holidays at various farms and loved the different animals.
So we're looking forward to meeting you and your pets and exploring the area where you're living!

We could not have been happier having had Anne and Rob care for our house, garden and 2 cats. They had to deal with a poorly cat, but communicated well with us and a friend to manage the treatment and we could tell our cats hadn't missed us at all when we got back. The grass was mown perfectly, plants cared for, and the house cleaner than when we'd left! We really appreciated the food prepared for our return, milk left in the fridge etc. Would definitely recommend these 2 gems to others!!

This was my first experience of using house sitters and it couldn’t have gone better. Anne and Rob were instantly likeable and gave me confidence that my cats and house would be well looked after. I recieved regular updates while I was away. When a parcel arrived labelled ‘open immediately’, Anne contacted me straight away and opened it for me. Unfortunately, due to a family crisis and an unexpected homeless period for my son we did not need Anne and Robert to sit for us. We did offer to bannish the prodigal son down to the summer house to camp out so that they could have free rein of the house. Unsurprisingly they kindly offered to make other arrangements. Pleased to have Anne & Rob looking after our house and pets. Came back from our holiday to an immaculately clean home. They were great at asking questions and making sure they're well prepared for the sit. We would have preferred to receive more regular updates on our animals but that is probably our personal preference more than anything. I'm just glad to have trustworthy people looking after my home & that my pets are safe and happy

Anne and Robert were really diligent house sitters. They were interested to find out all about the house and our pets. They were friendly, took on board the walking and feeding schedules and did a fantastic job. The pets and house were really well looked after. Everything was clean when we got back and they had even washed the sheets. Highly recommended!

Anne & Robert took care of our house, garden, cat & 4 hens during the drought this summer. They took great care of all of the above & more. When our cat had an injury they nursed his wound which healed beautifully. They ensured the hens were fed, watered & moved around the garden & scooped the poop as they are free ranging on our lawn.
