Hi! I am from Queensland, Australia and after finally retiring , I am travelling to the UK & Spain & Portugal, to fulfill a longtime dream...staying for at least 3 months in UK. ( from July 2024 to early Oct 2024-) and also visiting friends in different areas in the UK.
I am now into my 3rd month travelling in Spain & Portugal !! - revisiting a lot of places that I had only ever seen in one day. Madrid, Valencia , Malaga
My first time in Portugal - wow exceeded my expectations Lagos Porto Lisbon amazing to be able to take your time to see it all.
Looking forward to the UK, maybe a little less SUN!
I have Australian references that I can share via email and phone numbers. Always had cats and dogs as a child/teenager (even a cockatoo) but working full time, meant no time to care and cherish any pets. When I arrive home to Australia in November and settle back to Brisbane life., then it is time for a cat or and dog for my retirement.
All my previous visits have been 6 week holidays, delving into my family history from London to Carlisle, Leicestershire and Northern Ireland.
Unfortunately I can only claim Irish ancestry via my great Grandfather and great Grandmother and UK ancestry by my GGG grandfather and GGG grandmother.
I have travelled extensively and love spending a week or 2 in one place and housesitting is the perfect way to appreciate what the UK has to offer.

I don't have any of my own pets but regularly look after friend's cats and dogs whilst they are on holidays.
Happy to garden ( one of the photos is my garden - or was my garden), My family are taking care of all my plants.) and I love walking - currently averaging 12,000 steps per day.
